Fuggle & Golding is a craft beer shop situated in Ilkley, Yorkshire, who initially approached me to design them a website.
On finding out more about the personality of their business and what they are all about, we established the branding that another designer had put together for them was lacking in some areas and needed some fairly drastic redesigning.
It is sometimes the case that a client feels they will ‘make do’ with a logo they aren’t 100% satisfied with, with the intention of updating it later one. However getting the branding right before the launch of any new business is of crucial importance and saves money in the long run.
With that in mind, I came up with new typography and composition for the logo which better reflected the feel of the business. I took the existing hops motif, which only required a slight amendment to make it work well as part of the new branding.
The new logo and branding was rolled out onto the custom-printed ‘growler’ bottles, as well as shopfront signage, t-shirts, and other in-shop elements.
Of course, the website was also created, tying everything together to have a really nice, classic but memorable look.
The shop stocks some great tipples and is well worth a visit if you are nearby.
