Public Service Broadcasting – Green Man poster

I’m very pleased to announce my 3rd screenprinted poster for Public Service Broadcasting.

PSBGMposter

This print commemorates their forthcoming appearance at Green Man Festival and is a 3 colour, hand-printed silkscreen print in a very limited edition of 60.

For festival goers, this will be available at the UKPA Poster Tent along with posters for some of the other acts playing the festival, other gigposters, artprints, tshirts, bags, and other goodies.

Last year we had a fantastic time showing, selling & talking about our work, so myself and my fellow artists are really looking forward to it once again – if you are headed to the festival please come and say hi and see our work!

PSB

If you aren’t going to the festival, I will be keeping a small number of posters back which will go up on my online shop when I get back. Keep an eye on my Twitter stream for when these go live.

As well as a new poster for PSB, I also produced a poster for my lovely Leeds friends HOOKWORMS:

Same deal as above – available at the festival with hopefully a few left over for the shop.

Here is the full set of posters our group have designed for the festival. Read more about the artists and the set on this UKPA blog page here: http://ukposterart.com/post/126506941113/ukpa-poster-series-for-green-man-2015

Giclée Prints Now Available!

I’ve been overwhelmed with the kind words about my ‘Work Hard & Be Humble‘ screenprint. I’ve also had quite a few inquiries as to whether I have smaller versions of the design, as the original is a fairly large print at A2 size.

I am now happy to announce I have a few Giclée prints of this design. These are printed on 255gsm Somerset Velvet Enhanced lightly textured paper to a Fine Art Trade Guide approved standard, and at A4 size they’re easier to frame and a little more affordable for those on a budget.

Obviously this doesn’t quite have the unique, hand-crafted aspect of a screenprint – and it’s actually taken me a while to find a fine art printer able to produce the quality I wanted  – but it’s a different item and as such I think these came out beautifully.

They are priced at a very reasonable £15+postage and are available on my Etsy shop now.

Fantastic Mr Fox – sold out

Both versions of my Fantastic Mr Fox print are now officially* sold out.  A huge thank you to everyone who picked up a print either from myself or from Galerie F in Chicago, or from Outre Gallery in Australia, as well as for the very kind words – it’s genuinely appreciated.

People have been asking if there will be a second edition of this print. I generally don’t like to do this but in this instance there has been so much interest I am considering a small extra run. If printed, the 2nd edition design will differ slightly in some way to the 1st edition.

* I may have a couple of each print remaining in my archives. If so these will go up on the shop at a random day and time on a first-come-first-served basis! Sorry I can’t reserve anything or do special, secret deals – I have to try to be as fair as possible!

Thanks so much once again for the support.

Stay Fantastic!

New ETSY Shop

Slightly delayed announcement as it’s been up there a couple of weeks now, but I made the switch from a Big Cartel store to an Etsy Shop.

To celebrate the opening I added some rare and out of print stuff – some of which has gone already!

Thought Bubble Recap

Thought Bubble Festival was great fun! Thanks so much to all the nice folk who bought some of my stuff or just took flyers or asked questions. Considering I didn’t fully know what to expect, as to whether comic event goers would be aware of screenprinted work or understand what makes it so lovely (especially compared to boring old digital prints), but I was pleasantly surprised at the interest people had, and I even had some great chats with other screenprinters.

Overall it was definitely worth my time and hopefully I’ll be making appearances at future Thought Bubble events!

Huge thanks of course go out to the OK COMICS Team who made me very much feel part of the family.  Give those guys some love.

PS – Thanks also to the lovely House of Betty peeps for their kind mention in their TB update here: http://blog.houseofbetty.com/moar-hob-at-thought-bubble-2012/

Thought Bubble 2012 – Leeds Royal Armouries

Thought Bubble is probably the best event of it’s kind in the UK – not just a comics convention but a true celebration of sequential art and culture of all kinds.  It’s taking place this weekend and I’m delighted to say that I’ll be present selling some of my printed goods at the OK COMICS stand.

I will have a selection of my screenprinted posters for people to browse and buy, including a few choicely framed items, and I’ll also have notebooks, sketchbooks, and a few other things.  If you’re going to be in attendance please come by and say hello – we’re right by the entrance!

ARTCRANK London 2012

ARTCRANK is a show of bicycle-inspired poster artwork that introduces people to talented local artists and sends them home with affordable, original works of art. Since its 2007 debut in Minneapolis, ARTCRANK has held shows in bike-friendly cities in the US and UK, including Portland, San Francisco, Austin, St. Denver and London.

I’ve been lucky enough to be involved with the London ARTCRANK shows for the past few years, and the 2012 show features poster artwork from 27 UK artists.

The opening night party will take place on Friday 7th September at:

plain wall projects
2A Corsham Street
N1 6DP
London, UK

The exhibition will be on extended view from 8-14 September with posters on sale from 10:00 am—5:00 pm.

If you can make it down to the opening night, you absolutely should — previous exhibitions have had an amazing atmosphere and been rammed to the rafters with bicycle folk.
Those who follow me on Instagram or Twitter will have seen some of the print process for my Artcrank 2012 print, but for those that haven’t yet seen it, here’s a sneak peak:
These will be available from the Artcrank exhibition and also from the AoC shop afterwards!

‘The Wall – Inside the Poster Studio’ book
