UK Poster Association

UK Poster Association

The UKPA is an umbrella organisation created to help support and promote the work of UK poster artists.

Set up by myself and some fellow artists with the aim of working collectively on bigger projects, the UKPA also provides a handy platform from which we can promote the field of gig poster design – with a focus on artists creating limited-edition, screenprinted work.

Since our formation in… uh… the past*, we have exhibited together at various events worldwide, securing funding for other artists to travel and exhibit with us at events such as SXSW in the USA. We have also curated and installed various exhibitions, such as INK & PAPER – the largest exhibition of contemporary gig poster art shown in the UK. We’ve also given talks and participated in panels about gig poster art and even produced our own publication, FLOOD.

We are now a regular fixture at Green Man Music Festival, producing yearly limited-edition posters for some of the acts, providing live screenprinting demonstrations, and displaying and selling work in our now-familiar pop-up marquee.

We also maintain a Directory of UK Poster Artists and offer help and information to designers and bands either creating or commissioning gig poster art.

Our website, which has become a little ramshackle and is due an overhaul soon, can be visited at ukposterart.com
